Devontae's Home Learning for Religious Education

Devontae has been engaging well with his home learning. Below is a screencastify he recorded which details the important beliefs we as Catholics have about Mary.

This activity comes for the Catholic Education Office's Prayer and Witness Challenge they sent out to support our Tamariki learning from home. This challenge can be found on our class site here.

Ka Pai Devontae, keep up the awesome work!

Angel's Home Learning

This was not a task for home learning, but Angel has created a wonderful Google drawing to remind us of how to protect ourselves against Covid-19.

Orana Wildlife Park

On the 16th of August, Rooms 5 & 6 went to Orana Wildlife Park. Here we learnt about different adaptations animals have. We also learnt about their habits, food chains and lots more.

My favourite part was seeing Tasmanian Devils. Did you know, most of them have scars on their bottoms? This is because they chase each other in circles when they are fighting. Tasmanian Devils are very territorial!

It was a great day and I was very tired when we got back to school. Everyone enjoyed Zoo School and seeing all of the different animals.

Insect Symmetry!

We have been learning about symmetry. As part of our Biodiversity unit, we looked at insects. We all chose an insect to draw. We started by drawing half of the insect then we used an old X-ray lightbox to trace the other half.

Here is Tini's completed insect! Wow, he has worked so hard on this.

Holy Week

Rooms 5 & 6 have been learning about the important events in Jesus life during Holy Week. We all created two images that represent important events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. We used our two images to create a concertina picture. This was done by cutting each picture into strips and gluing them in alternative strips onto the paper. Below is a video of the image Charles created. If you have any questions about Holy Week or the process we used to create the images, leave a comment.
